Stalin's Death

I have been reading "Soviet Power and Policy," an anthology of essays published in 1955. One paragraph definitely caught my attention. The last sentence:

"According to a number of completely unverified newspaper reports, the chief of Stalin's personal force was killed on about February 15, 1953, and shortly afterward Stalin himself was murdered."

I know that Stalin died around that time but from a stroke. This has provided an unexpected insight into the initial beliefs concerning his death and into how the press handled it.

The rumors abput Stalin' sdeath are [retty persitant. It is beleived by some that he was poisoned by Beria with support of Malenkov - old-time government officials, ranked second and third in command.

There is a Russian fictional show called "stalin.live" where this version described in details. Not sure if it has english subtitles though.

Me too, some 15 years ago. Great movie. Not everyone likes Nikita Mikhalkov's style, but he is a very talented actor and movie director.

Not sure if I liked it that much now, though.
